Back in a Bus; Doodles.
« on: May 19, 2013, 10:25:49 PM »
Hi guys, long time no speak.

Bit of history; had a '64 bus for my first car in 2007, sold it in 2010 and bought a Karmann Ghia...
Owned that for a while, had the heater channels and floors done and decided I wanted another bus.

My first bus:

My ex Ghia:

(Static)

This weekend, I part exchanged the Ghia for a '65 RHD Devon...
I am SO happy. Like, ecstatic. I absolutely love it.

Excellent news Jamie.  Always knew you'd end up with another bus, there's nothing quite like it huh?  Look forward to seeing it. ...

Cheers guys! :D

Scott, I'm hoping to be down your way in June - Want to get to Newquay in it before the MOT expires in July.

The interior, which is one of my favourite bits:

Oh really Raiz? Going for brown? Sounds interesting! Tempted to POTM them, but I'd rather get some nicer ones next weekend :)

Great to be back in a bus!

Haha, love the mobile hairdressing comment :D

Long term plan would be to change the colour to something a bit more original... It was originally Sea Blue and Cumulus White... Not one of my favourite colour combinations, but I could rock it that way...
I don't really plan to restore it, just replace the rusty metal with fresh and tidy up the filler and give it a cheap blow over to have a go at spraying myself (over the dents... I like the battered look).

Whether I go through with that^ will be interesting to see... As I never seem to get far with my plans. Knowing me I might get convinced to restore it nicely one panel at a time by my welder friend, as a rolling project.

I want to change the stance when funds allow (mostly for the tyres)... Lose an inch at the front maybe, and change the rear tyre sizes and get the wheels sitting a bit better in the arch.

Sooty, that's the weekend I'll be down Newquay too, if all goes to plan... My birthday on the 29th :D

Wasn't a straight swap, but I was very happy with the outcome.

Good to see you back Jamie, loving the bus, that interior is sweet as. Are you still local enough to get over to the Splitterz meet at the Lazy Otter on the A10?
