Well.... a few more hours in my new garage today..... So...

Sanded the trailer lid. My god that was messy and super dusty!

Image

Oh..... and always wear the correct protective equipment!

Image

So onto the trailer.... on it's side and positioned the wheel.

Image

Mock up of the wheel space.....

Image

No going back now....... So cut cut and cut. Measure once cut 5 times yeh Sean? lol.

Image

Moment of truth.... axle back on.....

Image

Then put the wheel on to see if I cut it right..... my god I did!

Image

Image

Put back on the wheels to see if the suspension altered it.....

Image

Image

Check for the inside clearance......

Image

Spot on... hardly any space lost at all. Cool.

Looks pretty low from the rear....

Image

So.... the4 before and after pic?

Image

After...

Image

That'll do!

Now to think about the tubs and arches!

The suspension is SOLID (totally fucked inside the axle I think) but drove back ok loaded up, hence why the clearance is so small as the wheel will not move!!!

Looks great Sooty !!

Have you given the thought of using bug fenders for the outside ?? Early ones would look sick IMO !!

Only hard part would be the crease in the body. Would be hard to modify the fender Unless you got fiberglass ones.
It being kinda squared off maybe some thing fenders and a cut down rear bumper would look good.

Not necessarily, it looks like the tire just barely protrudes past the trailer. If he was to fillet the fender down the middle, he could use the inner section to conform to the trailer and use a combination of pie cuts and cutting out the middle to splice the two together. It would be narrower than a stock bug fender, plus conform to that angle on the trailer.

The wheels are only 12's though, so I'm guessing a bug rear fender would look too big. No?

I was going to narrow it but I wanted to keep as much space in the trailer as possible.

Thinking of something like this....

Would do inside and outside.
